Introducing Domo - A Home for Cultural Connection Across Borders
Introducing Domo, a shared home for cultural connection across borders in Amsterdam uniting DutchCulture, Cultural Emergency Response, Prince Claus Fund, and the European Cultural Foundation to strengthen international cultural collaboration in challenging times.

As global divisions grow, Domo marks a new beginning for international cultural cooperation in Amsterdam. Bringing together DutchCulture, Cultural Emergency Response, the Prince Claus Fund, and the European Cultural Foundation under one roof, it creates a shared home where culture continues to build connection, solidarity, and imagination across borders.
As global divisions deepen and international cultural exchange faces mounting pressures, Domo marks a new chapter in Amsterdam. Not a merger but a co-location, Domo brings together four independent organisations under one roof: DutchCulture, Cultural Emergency Response, Prince Claus Fund, and the European Cultural Foundation (ECF). Together, they represent decades of commitment to connecting cultures and communities across borders — even as some borders close.
The name Domo — which means “home” in many languages — reflects the new initiative’s purpose: to be a space and a community that supports cultural actors worldwide and fosters a global ecosystem of international cooperation.

The new space is located at Nieuwe Herengracht 14, within the H’ART Museum complex in Amsterdam, where CER, DutchCulture, and ECF are already sharing their offices, with the Prince Claus Fund joining them later this year. In 2026, the public space Domo will be officially opened.
In De Volkskrant, art reporter Alex Burghoorn explores how Domo carries forward a long-standing tradition: culture as a force for freedom, imagination, and resilience. From supporting artistic exchange and safeguarding endangered heritage, to launching now-legendary programmes like Erasmus, Domo’s partners prove that cultural cooperation doesn’t just survive headwinds — it adapts and endures. Later this year, the Prince Claus Fund will open a public exhibition and event space on the ground floor, offering even more room for exchange, learning, and encounter.
At ECF, we’ve always believed that Europe’s future is shaped not only by politics or markets, but by the strength of our cultural connections. In Domo, we find renewed purpose in fostering shared space, solidarity, and care in a world that increasingly tests them. Even in uncertain times, connection can be a choice — and hope, a shared project.
