Domo presents Our Stories: Chinese Queer Artists in Amsterdam during WorldPride 2026
A unique group exhibition presenting the works of three Chinese queer artists exploring personal memory, visibility, care, resilience, and self-representation.
On 4, 5 and 6 August 2026, we present Our Stories: Chinese Queer Artists in Amsterdam, a unique exhibition bringing together the work of three contemporary Chinese queer artists during WorldPride Amsterdam 2026.
Presented in collaboration with the China Rainbow Collective Foundation (CRCF) and supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Beijing, the City of Amsterdam and DutchCulture, the exhibition explores themes of memory, identity, resilience and visibility through painting, photography and installation.
At a time when public space for LGBTQI+ expression in China is becoming increasingly restricted, Our Stories offers a rare opportunity to encounter artistic practices that give voice to personal experiences and lived realities that often remain unseen. Rather than presenting a single narrative, the exhibition brings together three distinct artistic perspectives that together create a nuanced and deeply human portrait of contemporary queer life.
The exhibition features work by Wang Zibai, Luping Walnut and Shawn Zhang, whose practices span painting, documentary photography and socially engaged installation. Together, their works explore themes including love, care, memory, vulnerability, identity and dignity. By presenting these voices in Amsterdam during WorldPride, the exhibition creates a space for dialogue across cultures while highlighting the universal importance of artistic freedom and human dignity.
For Domo, the exhibition reflects its mission as a platform for international cultural collaboration and exchange.

The exhibition opens with an invitation-only reception on Monday 3 August and will be open to the public from 3–6 August, daily between 13:00 and 17:00.
